I think if you don't know a hell of a lot about the band this would make a good intro. Within the (almost three hour) framework of a nasty little post Phish Friday night, the band waxes and slides it's way thru a myriad of unexpected, elegant improvisations and a batch of songs that just plain KILL. We get huge slabs of funk (Summer Sun); whispy, emotive feugeing (Wild Side, Emerald Eyes), and good ole high-peaking guitar heroics (Big Boat, Blood Red Roses). Max Creek is more of a legend now then a band and they deserve every bit of that status. Check them frequently for the state-of-the-art in rock improv.
